ABOUT ME
Hello, you can call me Cat (she/they). Glad to see you made it, I hope the traffic wasn't too bad. Please leave your shoes by the door, you can hang your coat on the rack behind you. Please, do come in and make yourself comfortable, we have much to discuss.
I'm an elder emo turned psychologist (PsyD), currently working with the incarcerated population. I have not always enjoyed horror, it's taken many years for me to get to this point. When I was in elementary school I hid behind the couch, terrified, while my family watched Veggie Tales: The Fib from Outer Space. Now I can speedrun Resident Evil 2, have fallen in love with the Silent Hill franchise, and love Silence of the Lambs. In 2024 I fell back in love with reading - grad school tends to kill the love of reading for a lot of people, but I have since recovered. While I may not have always loved horror, I have always loved mystery, mostly Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys, so I suppose that was my starting point. As we are moving into an era where certain book topics are becoming more controversial and certain people are moving to ban a majority of absolutely incredible books, I would like this space to be a place where we can discuss why these books are worth reading (focusing on horror, obviously).
xoxo, Cat
